Mr. Kevin Cowl is a nonprofit leader with an impressive track record of improving organizational performance. His skills lie in strategizing and fundraising for organizations, as well as restructuring companies in need of help. Mr. Cowl currently serves as the Vice President of Development at the Middle East Institute (MEI), a nonpartisan D.C. think tank dedicated to facilitating awareness of and education about Middle Eastern issues!

Mr. Cowl’s work throughout his whole career has shown his dedication to helping nonprofits. His work on behalf of nonprofits includes designing and overseeing major initiatives for organizations like the AARP Foundation, the Institute of International Education, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and the National Iranian American Council. 

His work for all of these organizations is truly impressive. As Chief Operating Officer of the National Iranian American Council, Mr. Cowl led the organization through a major systems upgrade, secured new foundation grants, increased individual giving, and expanded programs, staff, and membership. As Executive Vice President of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Mr. Cowl led membership, marketing, communications, organization, and training initiatives. At AARP, he led strategic communications for the President and Board of Directors, and at the Institute of International Education, he managed Boren and Fulbright exchange programs for U.S. students and teachers!

Mr. Cowl holds a degree in Fine Arts from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy from the State University of New York at Albany. In addition to his nonprofit work, he also maintains an active career as an artist, with exhibits in D.C. and New York City! Mr. Cowl is an incredibly talented individual, and we are very proud to have him representing ABPA.
