SAPHIA ABOUELENEIN

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY’S OFFICE OF CORPORATE EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT

Saphia is currently a senior at American University, studying Economics with minors in International Business and International Studies. This summer, she served as a Government Relations and Public Affairs Intern at Helping Hand for Relief and Development in Washington D.C. Saphia’s community service includes her leadership roles at No Lost Generation at AU and Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Sorority. We wish her all the best at the Department of Energy!


SHAHRAZAD ABBAS

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

Shahrazad has been placed as a full-time “fellow” at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Partnerships & Public Engagement.

Shahrazad completed her Master’s Degree in Global Affairs at George Mason University this past spring. She previously served as a Community Outreach Intern at Hope Medical Enterprises and a Publication Assistant at Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies. We wish her all the best!


AHMED ELMAHBOUB

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS

Ahmed has been selected as a Fall 2019 intern through Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS). Ahmed will join the Digital Media Engagement Team with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to work on Google Analytic Projects.

Currently, Ahmed is completing his Master’s Degree in Business Analytics at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with an expected graduation date of February 2020. We wish him all the success!


ALEXANDRA AYOOB

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS

Alexandra has been selected as a Fall 2019 intern through Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS). Alexandra will serve as a Digital Media intern for Operation Song and Veteran Music Therapy with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

Alexandra is receiving her Master’s Degree in Public Affairs at Brown University in May 2020. Good luck, Alexandra!


DINA HAMED

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

Dina will serve as an intern at the USDA’s Economic Research Service Unit for Fall 2019. Dina is currently attending Cairo University as a Communication and Computer Engineering major and an expected graduation date of June 2020.

Previously, Dina served as an Engineering intern at UNDP-GEF Energy Efficiency Project for Lighting and Home Appliances Ministry of Electricity and Energy, as well as, SBP Consulting, LLC. Wishing her a great experience at the USDA!


YASMEEN ALI

AMERICAN MUSLIM SENIOR SOCIETY

Yasmeen Ali has been placed at the American Muslim Senior Society for the Fall 2019 semester. Born and raised in Baltimore, Yasmeen is a senior student at Towson University in Maryland, studying criminal justice and psychology. She looks forward to attending law school upon graduation to specialize in criminal law. We wish Yasmeen the best!


NAWRAS TOHEMER

COUNCIL ON AMERICAN-ISLAMIC RELATIONS (CAIR)

Nawras has been placed at CAIR’s D.C. Office internship through the partnership between ABPA and the UCDC (University of California Washington) program.

With an expected graduation date of June 2020, Nawras studies Political Science with a minor in Psychology at the University of California, Irvine. We wish Nawras all the luck!
